With hundreds of sets sold, the LEA flashcards have proved useful to students from all podiatric medical schools. However, these cards may also prove useful to any individual studying lower extremity anatomy (i.e. orthopedics, physical therapy, kinesiology, exercise physiology, and surgery). Lower Extremity Anatomy (LEA) accounts for approximately 25% of podiatric board examination questions. Furthermore, this topic is the foundation for practice in podiatric medicine and surgery.
Recognizing this, two podiatric medical students (Dr. Samantha Miner and Dr. John Martucci) decided a tangible and convenient study aid for all things LEA would be useful to the podiatry community. And so, "the LEA flashcards" were conceived. There are no anatomical figures on the flashcards, since most questions on written board examinations are devoid of traditional anatomical identification. Instead, they are intended for rapid review and recall. You will find mnemonics and tricks throughout the cards to prepare you for classes, board exams, and your future career.
